Subject: This is an Outrage
As everyone now knows our homework this year was, except for one sentence, the exact same as last years. (To verify this for yourself see the attachments.) I have also found some interesting quotes from our University’s Ethics Guide:
It is the personal responsibility of all members on the Homewood campus — students, faculty, and staff — to uphold the ethical standards of the institution.
An instructor should not tempt students to cheat by reusing exams or assignments unless these materials are accessible to all students.
Physiological Foundations is supposed to be the pinnacle of our undergraduate BME education. Thus far, this has not been the case. We have been given readings which the course TA advised us not to bother doing, a lab lecture which was suppose to be given by a Professor, given by a graduate student, and were it not for the kindness of former students would have no formal MatLab training while our ability to complete the course’s assignments are dependent on it. This situation is an outrage and leads to a sometimes overused, but nonetheless very important question, “Towards what is my tuition money going?” In protest, I have turned in a blank sheet of paper with my name on it and urge you to attach your name to this post.
